Meet Sarah Mooney, our resident storyteller.
Sarah has been creating stories and characters about life on the high seas on board the SS Great Britain in Bristol, UK for the last 5 years, and when she’s not there, you’ll more than likely find her in the woods – igniting the imagination with stories of magical woodland folk.
Sarah feels deeply connected to the planet, and Mother Nature, and practices many healing arts with women’s groups close to her home in Glastonbury.
We tracked Sarah down and asked her to get into character so we could find out who is the real Sarah, and what are her dreams and expectations for her upcoming Ascension voyage in November.

Q: What colour is your toothbrush?

A:  Stripey, purple and yellow I think.

Q: If you could teleport where would you go and why?

A: Venus, I think that planet could teach me a lot about celebrating myself as a woman and soft power.

Q: Who do you admire the most (dead or alive)?

A: Anyone who has ever said ‘you can do it’.

Q: What’s your top tip for reducing plastic use – what works for you?)

A: The more connected I am to the earth the more allergic I become to plastic and packaging. I try to avoid supermarkets and shop communally.

Q: If you could put just one thing at the top of your bucket list, what would it be?

A: Master forgiveness.

Q: What’s the most delightful word you can think of?

A: Delicate

Q: What’s your biggest fear?

A: Getting it all wrong, missing the point, and wasting my life.

Q: Favourite flavour ice-cream?

A: Hazelnut

Q: Who would be your 4 ultimate dinner party guests (dead or alive)?

A: Mary Magdalane, my friends Victoria and Sophie, we haven’t managed to finish a sentence since our kids were born, and my friend Adelle, she knows how to enjoy her food!

Q: Where would you go if you were invisible?

A: I think I would go to a hospice, and be loving presence when people are frightened.

Q: If you owned your own Yacht, what would you call her?

A: I would wait for her to tell me what her name was.

Q: What have you done that you are most proud of?

A: I am most proud of the times I have opened my heart, let go when I want to blame someone else, and taken a step forwards.

Q: What would your Superhero power be?

A: I would emanate encouragement to follow your heart.

Q: What piece of advice have you been given that was most rewarding?

A: A woman in the chip shop grabbed me and said “you are a great mum and you are doing a brilliant job and people will always forget to tell you so you have to keep telling yourself ”

Q: What’s the most important thing you want to take away from your eXXpedition voyage?

A: Strength, clarity and a sense of limitless potential. I want to meet it with all my heart and soul. To keep humbly listening to the wind, the sea, and the other women, so I can keep noticing how I can be of service on board and to the world.

Q: What’s your favourite marine animal and why?

A: Little colourful fish, the way they swoop and swim together and the brightness of them, that always makes me gasp.

Q: What’s the one thing that drives you crazy?

A: Low expectations, and an uncomfortable bra.
