Our first 1% for the Planet donors are Paddle Logger, a multi-award winning mobile application for paddlesports. Designed for paddlesports like SUP, Kayak, paddleboard, surfski, outrigger canoe, and more, the Paddle Logger app allows paddlers to track and record their paddle adventures, whilst also keeping paddlers safer and more connected on the water.
Like eXXpedition’s network, Paddle Logger’s community of water sport enthusiasts has a closer connection to the ocean than many – and in addition to its beauty, have witnessed the environmental degradation and pollution of the marine environment. No one wants to paddle in a plastic sea and more of us are becoming conscious consumers when considering the products that may play a part in the damage to our ecosystems. Many companies have and/or are starting to be aware of this which is awesome – but we as paddlers can do more.

Solutions-based science, improved public knowledge and perception and community are key drivers for eXXpedition. These objectives align with the team behind at Paddle Logger as well as our values for the paddling community. Paddlers spend a huge amount of their lives enjoying the benefits that being on the water brings, whether that is some form of mental escapism, physically testing oneself against the elements or simply enjoying being outdoors. We all have a responsibility to do more to protect our planet.
Paddle Logger have committed 1% of their annual sales, not profit, to support non-profit organisations focused on the environment and. Beyond their donation in support of eXXpedition CIC, they have also used their channels to engage the community of ocean lovers around our mission, including driving directly to the SHiFT Platform from within their app. To encourage responsible paddlers to explore hundreds of solutions to plastic pollution and see where they can make an impactful change to help our ocean playground.
